Luxor Equipment was established in 1964 under the name of Matador Pipeline and Equipment Company. At that time, pipeline construction and operation was the primary focus of the company’s projects, but a need for quality equipment fabrication and maintenance brought the plant construction division into operation.

The rest is history.

Since then, the company has fabricated and installed numerous ammonia plants, gas processing plants, gas pipeline compressor stations, amine plants, small oil refineries.

In 1974, the Exxon Corporation contracted Matador Sales to build the first manned diving bell to be operated at a depth of 2500 feet. Since that time, several fabrication projects have been successfully completed.

In 1988, the company changed from Matador Sales to Luxor Equipment Co.

This was done to make a distinction from the company’s old focus on gas pipelines operation to its new focus on equipment and fabrication.  The fabrication division operates under the name of Korfab Inc. Korfab Inc. is an ASME code fabrication shop and it designs and fabricates equipment subject to ASME Div. 1 Section VIII.

In 1991, a small skid mounted 1.5MM LPG plant was engineered and manufactured and erected for BERMIS in Losarang, Java, Indonesia. 

In 1999, a 1500 GPM Amine Plant and Dehydration system was completed and installed in South America.

At the present time, a 75 mmcfd cryo gas plant has been completed by Luxor Equipment Co. and is being installed in South America.
